About Alison

"Alison Elwin is an experienced rehabilitation counsellor, having worked in case management, injury management and safety roles for over 18 years.

Alison works with clients across the lifespan presenting with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, burns, amputations and vision impairment. She has experience working with city and rural-based clients with complex medical needs, behavioural issues, challenging family situations, substance use, dual diagnosis, and high care needs.

Alison is committed to assisting people to achieve their life goals and rehabilitation outcomes. She works collaboratively with the client, their family and supports and the multidisciplinary team to ensure a coordinated, client-centred approach. Alison adapts case management strategies to ensure they meet the changing needs of her clients.

Alison has extensive vocational rehabilitation experience and can assist clients in identifying prevocational and return to work goals after sustaining significant injury.

Alison completed her Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) at Western Sydney University in 1995. She finalised her Master of Arts in Sport Psychology at the same institution in 1996. Further post-graduate qualifications were completed in psychology and Work Health & Safety. Alison became an approved case manager with Lifetime Care and Workers Care in 2015. She is a fully accredited rehabilitation counsellor with the Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors.
