As we commence our recovery from the impacts of COVID-19 many NSW businesses are coming out of hibernation or ramping back up again.

In particular, businesses directly impacted by social distancing measures in industries such as hospitality and retail, are now beginning to prepare themselves for a safe return to work.

As we are faced with a very different work environment and new ways of working, it’s important for businesses to focus on what steps they can take to bring both their employees and customers back on board safely.

To help get you started, icare has put together a practical guide for managers, business owners and safety professionals responsible for managing the safe re-opening of their businesses.

This guide will help you to:

  • approach new ways of working in a COVID-19 environment, using a comprehensive framework
  • proactively deal with COVID-19 risks in the workplace
  • ensure you have covered off all aspects of a safe return, including inductions, new policies and procedures, mental health considerations and the physical office environment
  • prepare your workforce at both a company-wide and individual level.

We understand that each business is unique and may be at varying stages of safely reopening for business. We have created different formats depending on the level of information and support you need.
