icare can pay for equipment needed due to a motor accident or workplace injury for participants in the Lifetime Care Scheme or workers in the Workers Care Program.

Equipment prescription

Equipment prescribers are required to meet the qualifications and experience listed in the Professional Criteria for Prescribers and the Professional Criteria for Prescribers of Exercise and Fitness Equipment.

How to request equipment

  1. Provider Portals

    Portals are available from three of icare’s equipment panel providers, Aidacare, ALTER Technology and Independent Living Specialists. The portals can be used to place orders, get quotes and request equipment servicing and trials. You can register to use the portals using the links above.

  2. EasyOrder

    EasyOrder can be used by icare contacts, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, clinical nurse consultants and case managers to order low cost/low risk equipment (up to $1,000) without submitting an Equipment Request Form.

    icare contacts can order these items on behalf of clinicians who do not have access to EasyOrder. For more information about EasyOrder, speak with an icare contact, download our EasyOrder information sheet (below) or email easyorder@icare.nsw.gov.au.

  3. Equipment Request Form
    The Equipment Request Form can be used to request equipment, aids or appliances (excluding continence or consumable products) considered to be Group 2 or 3 according to the Professional Criteria for Prescribers and Professional Criteria for Prescribers of exercise and fitness equipment.
  4. Fast Track

    icare has a ‘Fast Track’ approval process for low risk requests that have a quote.

    You can request low risk equipment or equipment maintenance services via email or phone call to an icare contact without submitting a form. Low risk equipment are Group 1 items according to the Professional Criteria for Prescribers and the Professional Criteria for Prescribers of Exercise and Fitness Equipment. 

Equipment Provider Panel

icare has appointed an Equipment Provider Panel to supply disability and healthcare equipment for people in Lifetime Care and the Workers Care Program. 

The panel are the key suppliers of aids for daily living, mobility and access, transfers aids, electric adjustable beds, medical grade mattresses, wheelchairs and seating. The equipment panel providers are:
