icare partners with NSW Small Business Month this October

October is Small Business Month in NSW. As an official collaborative partner, icare is hosting face-to-face and virtual events to support workplace health and safety for small businesses across NSW.

The theme of this year's NSW Small Business Month is 'My Small Business', with events tailored to help small business owners and operators learn new skills and strategies to improve their business across several key areas.

icare is hosting events and providing tools and resources focused on health. icare is committed to supporting businesses to create healthy businesses – and that covers many aspects of health – including but not limited to psychological health, physical health, and financial health.

With psychological injury being the fastest-growing injury type in NSW, icare want to promote greater awareness on how to identify early indications of mental health challenges and assist with prevention and recovery support.

During October, icare will also host face-to-face mental health forums for employers in Port Macquarie and Coffs Harbour.

A 30-minute webinar is also being hosted on 18 October to outline all the discounts, benefits and incentives available to small businesses across NSW and how employers can access them.

Adam O'Leary, Manager of icare's Mobile Engagement Team says many small businesses are unaware of the additional support that can help them to improve workplace safety and productivity.

"We will be busting a few myths regarding small business and provide an understanding of the various incentives accessible to small businesses across NSW."
Adam O'Leary

"This session will help employers understand the fundamentals of injury prevention, claims impacts and knowing how to utilise the small business incentives which will certainly go a long way in supporting early treatment, quicker recovery, greater productivity and a safer, healthier and more sustainable business."
