Update on icare's hearing device schedule

icare’s schedule of hearing devices for injured workers will remain in place for the foreseeable future.

Insurance and Care NSW (icare) has announced that its schedule of hearing devices for injured workers under the workers compensation scheme will remain in place for the foreseeable future after icare's panel of hearing device suppliers expired in November 2022.

The hearing devices schedule contains a list of hearing aids which meet icare's quality standards at a recommended maximum price, allowing icare to support workers suffering from industrial deafness at a sustainable cost.

The hearing aids listed in the schedule meet the quality standards and price as set by icare in consultation with expert industry bodies. Accessories and Assistive Listening devices are also listed on the schedule

All hearing device suppliers will be invited to submit devices for inclusion on the schedule twice yearly in April and October, with the schedule to be published in May and November following a technical review.
