Gallagher Bassett, new claims service provider for the Nominal Insurer

Gallagher Bassett is part of a new panel of six claims service providers managing workers compensation claims under the Nominal Insurer.

As part of icare's commitment to deliver a higher standard of service in workers compensation under the Nominal Insurer scheme, our expanded panel of claims service providers includes experienced third-party claims administrator Gallagher Bassett.

In re-entering the Nominal Insurer scheme as a claims service provider, Gallagher Bassett will provide a fresh focus on achieving better outcomes for new claims under the Nominal Insurer, as well as specialist psychological injury claims services.

Gallagher Bassett is a long-term partner with other workers compensation schemes, self-insured companies and Government agencies, and has been working in Australia for over 25 years with the Commonwealth and with New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, the Northern Territory and Tasmania.

Gallagher Bassett is aligned with icare's commitment to deliver a fair, respectful, and empathetic experience in workers compensation. Their approach is designed to empower scheme participants, maintain a high level of customer experience and efficiency, while ensuring the human factor of personal injury service is at the centre of what they do.

Gallagher Bassett will be available for eligible employers to select as their claims service provider of choice from 30 June 2023. Along with workers compensation claims management, Gallagher Bassett provides general insurance, self-insurance, and advisory services.

On 22 December 2022, icare confirmed Allianz, DXC Technology, EML, Gallagher Bassett, GIO and QBE as the new panel of claims service providers responsible for managing the Nominal Insurer scheme, covering more than three million private sector workers across NSW.

Another new provider on the panel is DXC Technology which will commence managing claims for the Nominal Insurer in the second half of this year. Further information on DXC Technology and the date they will commence managing claims will be shared over the coming months.
