Adaptive sports helps Jarrod reimagine what’s possible

On 7 July 2018, Jarrod Emeny was on his way to a rugby game when he was injured in a serious road accident, that left him a paraplegic at only 17. His life changed forever that day.

However, the accident has not held Jarrod back. He is now an international Wheelchair Basketballer with his sights firmly set on wearing the green and gold at the LA Paralympics in 2028.

“I think regaining your independence after injury is really important. The best way to do that is to get uncomfortable and go and do the things that you’re scared of, like trying a new sport. icare helped me do that,” said Jarrod.

“When I first had my injury, I didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. After my injury, getting into adaptive sports helped me reimagine what was possible.”
