About Laura

"Occupational therapy strives to ensure the correct support is in place to enable people to optimise goal achievement and to do their best. I have been an occupational therapist since 1995 and a case manager for Lifetime Care and Workers Care since 2018. I have also done case management for other organisations, such as insurance companies over the years. I really enjoy working with people who have sustained significant injuries, helping them and their families through their individual journey of recovery. I have experience with people with spinal cord injury, brain injury and amputations along with other neurological conditions.

I have worked in Canberra and surrounding NSW region since 1999 and have developed rapport with local health professionals and attendant care service providers and have a good understanding of the special challenges of providing care in rural/regional areas.

I work cooperatively with the participant to develop person-centred goals; and then with the participant, significant others, icare coordinator and treating team to try and achieve them. I am responsive and flexible in service delivery, establishing rehabilitation programs in the home and community with attendant care service providers and health professionals as required.

As an occupational therapist, I am very used to working with the whole person, often scripting high end equipment to ensure optimal outcomes. I hold qualifications in occupational therapy (University of Sydney) and a masters of public health (Australian National University)."
