About Southern Cross

Southern Cross is a leading community organisation established in 1984 and has extensive experience in arranging care, support and services to people of all ages living in the community. Our services address the needs of people with traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries of any level including home ventilation and other disabilities. We have extensive experience in working with indigenous people and people from varied cultural backgrounds and arrange for services to be delivered in your own home including shared support houses.

Southern Cross can be contacted at all times through the free-call National Contact Centre number – 1800 989 000 – that provides a single point of contact, central administration and coordination of all services. We provide 24 hours/7-day service with support and advice available at all times.

Community coordinators (Registered Nurses) and support workers live within your local community. Community coordinators are available to assist you, liaise with the local community and funding bodies and support workers are trained to specifically meet your needs.

With our broad experience and local knowledge, we are able to assist you to settle back into your home and community. We believe participants are the priority and will uphold your rights and dignity with respect.

Southern Cross has successfully achieved NDIS Practice Standards and ACIA endorsed Australian Community Industry Standard (ACIS) certification. We are an Approved Provider for the Australian Government and directly contracted by NSW, QLD and VIC Health Departments to provide all supports and services for in-home ventilation and people with brain injuries.

We are an active member of the Australian Community Industry Alliance (ACIA).

Attendant care services we provide include:

  • Physical assistance
  • High clinical needs including ventilation management
  • Cognitive and challenging behaviours
  • Registered Nursing.
