icare Board announces two new appointments to Group Executive

icare is pleased to announce two appointments with confirmation of Tony Wessling as the GE of Workers Compensation and Scott North, as the GE of Risk & Governance.

Tony Wessling joined icare in November 2019 and has previously served as icare’s GE of Insurance for NSW & HBCF. Prior to icare, Mr Wessling was Chief Officer Strategy and Transformation at HCF, and served Suncorp Group in several operational and strategic executive roles.

Scott North’s appointment to icare’s leadership follows an extensive career in the insurance and financial sectors, serving as Deputy Chief Risk Officer at the Bank of Queensland and Chief Risk Officer at Youi. He has more recently served as an interim Group Executive at icare.

icare CEO Richard Harding said both the newly appointed Group Executives will now help icare to ensure major transformations underway are fully embedded in 2024.

"Tony has a strong track record of delivering strategic transformation, product and digital transformation in both Australian and international financial services sector. I look forward to him driving significant improvements for the injured workers and employers who rely on our workers compensation services in both the public and private sectors."
"Scott has an extensive risk and compliance experience in both Australian and New Zealand markets. I welcome the sharp oversight and commitment to excellence that he’ll deliver to icare as he leads a range of strategic, operational and risk management activities."

"We were impressed with a very high calibre of applicants who interviewed for the two Group Executive roles. After a rigorous, exacting process to find the best candidates, I’m also very pleased to announce the final selection of two proven leaders, both with strong connections to icare’s staff and the people we serve" said Mr Robertson.

"This is another positive sign of the solid transformation underway at icare, and on behalf of the Board, I congratulate Tony and Scott on their appointments."
