About Paula

Paula has worked in the Rehabilitation Counselling and Disability Sectors for over 30 years', in a range of front-line clinical, supervisory, training and management roles, providing me with significant exposure to a broad range of complex injuries, illnesses and disability.  She also has experience working with NDIS participants who by definition have significant, chronic  and often complex disability.

She has worked with clients under MVA schemes and clients under workers compensation schemes with catastrophic injury and a restoration to the community focus, assisting with medical management/coordination, psychosocial goals, training in daily activities, vocational goals where appropriate, and support for family members (parents, partners, children, carers).

Paula worked as a specialist business mentor with clients with catastrophic injury who are nevertheless seeking to return to the workforce and has specific experience with permanent blindness, having worked as a clinical supervisor for Guide Dogs Australia, SA.

With significant experience supporting clients with both primary and secondary mental health conditions, Paula can adapt her skills to most, if not all disability types.  All of her work throughout her career have used a person-centred and outcome oriented approach. Her various roles have provided her with experience across the lifespan, from infants (NDIS funded children with severe disability) to the aged (aged-care clients 100 year +), and all ages in between, though the majority of my experience is with working-aged adults.

Note from Paula: "I genuinely enjoy supporting people with highly complex needs, assisting the person, and their families/carers to identify and achieve their unique goals. Coordinating services among a range of health professionals is an integral part of this process. I have excellent local knowledge of the medical and allied health sectors in South Australia, and networking/engagement capabilities."
