About Dubbo Brain Injury Rehabilitation Program (Dubbo BIRP)
"When a person has a severe brain injury from a motor vehicle accident or work injury it can change how they do everyday tasks, think and behave. Dubbo BIRP case management and rehabilitation helps in your recovery and assists you to understand and plan how to reach your goals.Everyone is different so you will be at the centre of decision making and planning. Your family and friends will be part of your team. The Dubbo BIRP case manager will work with you to involve therapists and services that you and your family may need when leaving hospital and as you decide what is important for you to work on and achieve.
Our team is specially trained to support people with brain injuries. We work with adults (aged 16 to 65) that live in western NSW. We are also able to work with you if you have other injuries from your accident such as a spinal cord injury, burns or amputations.
We have several staff approved by Lifetime Care to provide case management services. We can also link you up with many other service providers in the area. There are strong links between city, suburban and country units. This makes sure your care continues, regardless of where you live.
We are a part of the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation network to ensure that you receive the right health care at the right time and in the right place. By working with Dubbo BIRP, you will have access to all of the knowledge and support available.
