icare supports the Oz Day 10K wheelchair race

Athletes and their supporters gathered at The Rocks on Australia Day to cheer on competitors taking part in one of the world’s best wheelchair races.

The Oz Day 10k is the ultimate celebration of inclusivity, diversity and athletic performance. Now in its 35th thrilling year, the Oz Day 10k has attracted some of the fastest wheelchair racing athletes from Australia and around the world.

Spectators cheered on Paralympians as well as first-time competitors as the athletes battled the course, the heat and each other.

The race is part of the Summer Down Under Wheelchair Road Racing Series, hosted by Wheelchair Sports NSW/ACT, a leading disability sport provider in NSW and ACT.

Special congratulations to Madison de Rozario and Paul Nunnari who took out the Open Women’s and Open Men’s categories.

Dr Nick Allsop, icare Group Executive Lifetime Schemes, presented the award for the Men's Master's category.

“Congratulations to all the athletes and winners! There was a great buzz down at the racecourse as athletes took off in Australia’s one and only wheelchair-only road race. This race is a great display of endurance and ability, and shows how sport can play such an important role in connecting the community.”
