About You Connect

You Connect is registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission as a not-for-profit and is a Public Benevolent Institution. It has three decades of successfully delivering funded contracts through various federal and state departments.

You Connect is registered for the NDIS, Specialised Substitute Residential Care with the Office of Children’s Guardian and ACIS provisional certification. You Connect is registered and authorised to administer RPs and complies with the mandatory reporting and participation in the RPA Panel.

You Connect prides itself on being there as and when needed, offering services in capacity-building supports, community participation, employment readiness, and housing. You Connect provides support to people living with a physical and/or mental health disability.

You Connect proactively delivers person-centred services, upholding and respecting each individual’s rights to freedom of expression, self-determination, decision-making, and independence. It ensures the participant is heard, their views are respected, and they feel safe and supported.

Experience in providing assistance and supervision to participants in completing activities and daily tasks with dignity and safety include:  

Physical assistance for:      

  • transfers and mobility        
  • intimate personal care
  • meal preparation   
  • medication management      
  • rehabilitation activities following therapist guidance.

Our key capabilities in service delivery are:         

  • offering individually tailored, flexible care to meet participants’ needs, ensuring they have choice and control over services
  • ensuring our care and response are person-centred
  • collaborating with service providers in consortiums, partnerships, and referral pathways       
  • coordinating with service providers to support participants with complex, multi-faceted needs      
  • providing crisis/emergency support and/or pre-planned services, where we:   
    • operate in a variety of settings, including home, community, workplace, etc    
    • operate any time of day  
    • provide support at any level of notice
    • providing support to participants one-off or over fixed periods.     

Our service delivery is 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for:

  • rostering on-call     
  • operations on-call       
  • last-minute/crisis calls.

All staff are required to undertake NDIS Worker, Police and Working with Children Checks and complete the mandatory NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

Staff working with participants with behaviours of concern are trained in disability support, Mental Health First Aid and/or have mental health qualifications and experience. Staff supporting participants with behaviours of staff physical harm are trained on De-escalation and Occupational Violence and Aggression.
