Frequently Asked Questions

  • Do I need a claim number to submit an invoice?
Yes, all invoices require a valid claim number. If the injured worker does not have or know their claim number, please contact the appropriate Claims Service Provider to obtain this.
  • What should I do if a claim number has not yet been issued to the injured worker?
If the injured worker has not been issued with a claim number, they need to call icare to get one. Injured workers and employers can also visit the make a claim page to create a claim in minutes.
  • What if I don't know what scheme the patient is insured under?
Tyro Health will verify accepted claim numbers through the platform. The injured worker can call their Claims Service Provider who will advise which scheme to process the claim under.
  • Does Tyro Health integrate with my Practice Management System (PMS)?

Tyro Health integrates with a number of Practice Management Systems (PMSs) and is continuously adding to this list.

For the most up-to-date information please visit Making icare payments quicker and easier at Tyro Health.

If your PMS does not currently integrate with Tyro Health, you can still use the online form or invoice upload feature in Tyro Health to enter the invoice information.

  • How is verification of ID and storage of personal data handled?

Tyro Health uses the IDMatrix product from credit reporting and identity agency Equifax to verify your identity online. This tool meets a high standard of fraud/identity protection assurance as it is integrated with the Australian Government Document Verification Service as an approved gateway service and identity service provider.

Tyro Health does not record, store or log:

    • any government-issued identification numbers, issue dates or expiry dates (for example, driver's license number, card number and passport number are never stored).
    • sensitive personal details such as residential address.

    Tyro Health does:

    • Transmit identity information you provide directly to IDMatrix for assessment (however this information is not stored).
    • Record and store information about the type of identity documents you provide (for example, that a driver's license and passport was used to verify identity).
    • Record and store your name.
    • Record, store and log technical session details for fraud prevention activities (such as the date, time, origination and device type used at time of verification).

Equifax is an authorised provider for the Australian Government Document Verification System and is bound by the terms, conditions and security controls mandated by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs.

Details of the document verification service can be found at: www.idmatch.gov.au.

Equifax's computer network, data storage and data processing services are all located in Australia with privacy details published at www.equifax.com.au/privacy.
