Targeting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent of the future

icare today launched the organisation’s first Graduate Program, inviting applications from university graduates with an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage and committing to building a culturally diverse and inclusive workforce of future leaders.

“icare is a culturally diverse organisation and we see diversity and inclusiveness as key to building a strong and contemporary workforce for the future,” said icare Chief People Officer, Greg Barnier.

“Graduate recruitment is a key avenue through which icare invests in developing its Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander talent, which reflects our community’s diverse needs and linguistic and cultural diversity.

“We’re looking for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander graduates from all areas of study with a record of achievement outside of university life, in work experience, sport, community, business or leadership” he said.

Commencing in February 2017, the two-year rotational program combines formal learning with hands-on practical work experience in real and meaningful roles. On successful completion of the program, graduates will be offered permanent positions, helping icare build its next generation of highly skilled leaders who share the organization’s values and vision.

Applications are invited from Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander graduates who have completed a university degree in the last 12 months.

“If you’re a graduate looking for an opportunity with an organisation which puts people before profits and makes a real difference to people’s lives, we want you on our team.”
