Graduate program to build next generation of leaders

icare CEO Vivek Bhatia today launched the organisation’s first graduate program to recruit and mentor university graduates.

icare CEO Vivek Bhatia today launched the organisation’s first Graduate Program to recruit and mentor university graduates from all areas of study, with a focus on developing and accelerating graduates’ potential to become future leaders of icare.

Commencing in February 2017, the two-year rotational program combines formal learning with hands-on practical work experience in real and meaningful roles. On successful completion of the program graduates will be offered permanent roles, helping icare build its next generation of highly skilled leaders.

Applications are invited from graduates with diverse academic backgrounds who have completed a Bachelor-level degree in the last 12 months.

“At icare, our customers are at the centre of everything we do. We’re seeking graduates from all areas of study who have self-awareness, empathy and a genuine curiosity to learn.”
Greg Barnier, Chief People Officer

“Our program encourages graduates to think strategically, analytically and creatively about our customers, so we want candidates with achievements outside of university life, such as work experience, sport, community service, or leadership roles,” he said.

“If you’re a graduate looking for a career opportunity with an organisation that puts people before profits and makes a real difference to people’s lives, we want you on our team.

“icare is a young and vibrant organisation with the culture, ambition and agility of a start-up, while being one of the largest general insurers in Australia. We offer fulfilling careers and a competitive salary.

“Our people operate with a Commercial Mind and Social Heart. This allows them to push the boundaries of strategic thinking and drive leading edge transformation of insurance and care services for the NSW community.

“We value courageous people and welcome those who take risks with integrity, accountability and respect. Join us as graduates and we will coach you to be the future leaders of icare”, Mr Barnier said.

Graduates will gain experience across the breadth of functions that contribute to the successful operation of icare and compete four six-month rotations across key business lines, including Workers Insurance and Lifetime Care, as well as Customer Experience, Strategy & Transformation, the Office of the CEO and People Engagement.

They will be assigned multiple projects involving research, planning, strategy development and presentations, with a focus on developing leadership skills and capabilities.
