Deeds with workplace rehabilitation, medico-legal and investigation providers to deliver services to icare Workers Insurance will be extended to 30 June 2021.
Prior to 1 July 2017 when icare began entering into deeds with providers, these relationships were managed individually by each of the five scheme agents managing workers compensation claims on behalf of icare's predecessor organisation WorkCover NSW.
"This resulted in a situation where one provider may have had five different contracts, one with each scheme agent," said David Hutton, General Manager, Provider Outcomes.
"Bringing relationships with providers in-house at icare has allowed service expectations, and performance monitoring, management and customer experience to be streamlined and consistent regardless of the agent managing a claim," Mr Hutton said.
icare will be collaborating with its deed-holding providers and their wider industries to further enhance the benefits of these in-house relationships including through aligning performance measures for providers with those for claims service providers, and icare's objectives.
