"My early years working as an occupational therapist were in a large rehabilitation centre in Sydney, where I was provided with extensive opportunities to learn from expert clinicians in how to comprehensively support people from all backgrounds, who had been injured.
Since moving to the South Coast of NSW more than 20 years ago, I have been providing occupational therapy and case management for people living here.
Over this time, I have established extensive local contacts with GPs, hospitals, private health professionals (including knowing their areas of expertise), medical specialists & care agencies. This has enabled me to create links with various community based services, for example through schools or local government services and with other non-government organisations like gyms, taxi and transport companies, and household maintenance services.
Most importantly, I have a true appreciation of the differences when living in a rural area as opposed to living in a large city."
