“I graduated 1987 and was employed by Western Sydney hospitals in an occupational therapy rotational position across various clinical areas, neurology/ neurosurgery, amputees, outpatients and the trauma unit. I worked for seven years as senior occupational therapist in a brain injury rehabilitation unit.
I have also worked as a rehabilitation consultant in workplace rehabilitation specialising in programs for people with acquired brain injury.
I have worked with Access Brain Injury Services since 2000, employed as a case manager and occupational therapist. I am very comfortable using my skill base to case manage a variety of clients with complex acquired brain injury. Due to my extensive experience with equipment prescription and treatment modalities for physical deficits, a large percentage of my caseload with Access BIS tends to be clients who have significant physical as well as cognitive deficits that require multi disciplinary slow stream rehabilitation programs and community reintegration.
In addition I have experience in the following treatment areas
- complex equipment prescription e.g. wheelchairs, pressure care, hoists, beds
- driver-trained occupational therapist: off-road and on-road assessment for people with acquired brain injury
- orthotic management : custom splinting, post botox serial casting of upper limbs, upper limb retraining."
