About Luke

Luke has a Masters in Rehabilitation Counselling having worked in rehabilitation since 2002 as a rehabilitation professional and mentor specialising in traumatic brain injury, serious and catastrophic injuries, and mental health. He helped develop and establish the brain injury reconnect transition program. Throughout his rehabilitation career, he has worked with people with disabilities including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, autism, cancer, musculoskeletal injuries and in mental health to facilitate outcomes.

Luke has facilitated training sessions at international disability, defence, and brain injury conferences on my professional and personal experience with serious injury recovery. He has worked for the state government, in private practice and for the federal government as a rehabilitation case manager.

He has also worked as a senior rehabilitation provider and a support worker with individuals to manage complex and long-term disabilities. Luke engaged with children, teenagers, adults, and older people. His skills and success in rehabilitation have been recognised at the national level and he had been published in international journals. At all times, Luke uses a person-centred approach to rehabilitation and disability management. He focuses on individual assessment of needs, communication, and evidence-based interventions.

Having survived a catastrophic acquired brain injury in 1997, Luke is familiar with various approaches to rehabilitation and recovery and have seen the rehabilitation process from the inside and out. This has equipped him with the skills and expertise specific to the provision of person-centred case management for people with severe and/ or complex disabilities.

Luke's note: "I look forward to meeting you and sharing my knowledge and experiences to support your recovery journey."
