New way to apply for your CRIF policy

From 9 July 2019, agencies taking out a policy under the Construction Risk Insurance Fund (CRIF) will go through the icare portal.

From 9 July 2019, agencies taking out a policy under the Construction Risk Insurance Fund (CRIF) will need to go to the icare portal, with the CEECAT portal ( to be decommissioned on 30 June 2019). Agencies who would like to receive a quote or policy from CRIF between 1 July – 8 July 2019 are requested to contact the CRIF team directly.

Why are we changing the portal?

The new portal has been designed to enhance and improve the policy process with:

  • A simpler and more intuitive user interface
  • Individual user logins from the main icare portal for a secure user experience
  • The ability to request, bind and endorse a quote and policy in a single session, with almost instant approval time for most policies.
  • Real time invoice generation at the time of binding and endorsement
  • Search and filter functionality for current and historical policies
  • Operational reports to reflect on agency’s risk exposure

What do I need to do?

If you currently hold a policy in CRIF, you will receive an email from the CRIF team advising you of your individual login to the platform before the 9th July. If you do currently do not have a login, please contact the CRIF team directly to request access to the new portal.

What happens to current or historical policies in CEECAT?

If your agency has current or historical policies with CRIF, these will all be migrated across to the new CRIF portal, and you will be able to view and download these online.

Will training be provided?

User Guides will be published online when the system goes live. Face to face training will also be available for users between 21 – 29 June. These will be scheduled on a needs basis, and will run for approximately 2 hours at 321 Kent St, Sydney. Please contact your CRIF representative. You can register your interest by emailing or call 02 7922 5085. User Guides will also be available online to guide you with completing the process.

How do I get my individual access to the CRIF portal?

Individuals whose agencies have a current policy in CRIF will receive an email directly from the CRIF team with their login details prior to the new system go live.
If you would like access to the CRIF portal before the 9 July go live, please email with your full name and agency details. We request allowing 3 business days to receive your login details.
