icare Lung Screen, a mobile respiratory testing service, is just another way icare can support employers by visiting their worksite or premises across NSW.
Lung screenings are a quick and painless procedure that can help with early detection of a dust disease. We’re committed to making this service more easily available to employers and their workers, which is why we offer three different ways for employers to arrange one.
Each examination takes less than half an hour, and involves:
- A lung function test by a respiratory scientist;
- Respiratory medical examination by a doctor; and if required,
- An x-ray reported by a radiologist
Results are returned to icare dust diseases care to be analysed by a respiratory physician. A health monitoring report is provided to each worker and the employer is notified of any workplace injury.
About the icare Lung Screen unit
Our mobile respiratory testing unit is a lung screening service on wheels.
Onboard is an X-ray room, advanced lung function testing equipment and a medical practitioner to conduct the examination. This minimises travel time for workers.
At a rate of $100 +GST per person, your employer can book the unit for a minimum of 30 workers. It’s a good option for an employer with a larger work force, and minimises disruption to the working day.
